Next month, National Geographic will broadcast a program called, "Animals In The Womb." The photography, some of which can be seen in the link below, is stunning. The implications, staggering.
In these studies, scientists are learning, for example, that unborn dolphins "swim," dogs "pant," and humans "walk" in their amniotic prebirth environments. You might argue that the babies are practicing for life; but in fact, they are already alive, practicing for life's next stage. Such studies are also revealing that babies (human as well as animal) even display personality in the womb. Some are playful, some shy. Some are curious, some timid; some are energetic, some sluggish. It makes you wonder how some of the more unfortunate (human babies) respond, and what they might feel, when their worlds are invaded and their helpless bodies attacked by saline syringes and laser-sharp surgical steel blades. Do the curious ones grasp for or try to touch the instruments of death? Do the timid ones become frightened when they sense the presence of strange intruders? Do they panic when they feel the pain? Do they try to get away? Do they cry? And when, I wonder, will they be heard? And who will hear them? Preborn Pachyderm Editor/Associate Publisher Motion System Design |

Amazing pictures, Larry -- thank you for sharing. The puppy photos are especially endearing.
If the world outside a womb was as safe as it is inside, the issue you raise would not be an issue. Senior Editor Motion System Design |
